A Stroke of Luck - Indie Coffee Roasters & North End Partnership
Over a recent cup of coffee at North Endβs Indie Coffee Roasters, Indie Coffee Roasters owner Diane McAndrews opened up about the newest ICR locations and how the relationship with Old Town Companies came to be. βItβs a great partnership, I mean weβre thrilled. To be an extension of what you all do is great. And coffee is so simple! It does provide the community.β
A relationship with Old Town started when they were initially looking for an opportunity for a new location up in Westfield. Upon learning that Old Town Companies was developing other locations, Diane began talking with Rebecca McGuckin about planning their first location together in West Lafayette, near Purdue. βIt was just a little bit of luck,β she said of finding Old Town. It proved to be a good model and naturally led to this one at North End, and in February, a fourth location at Federal Hill Apartments in Noblesville.
When asked what makes her passionate about her business, she again said, βthe people.β Diane also made sure to highlight the importance of selectively sourcing coffee beans and knowing the growers personally.
βSourcing the beans - being consistent with our importing, using smaller farms, and getting fair market value. Itβs nice to know them and have traceability. Partnerships and close relationships with the farm. Itβs just that little difference that you can make.β
She went on to describe the community at North End and how fun it is to witness. βNorth End is different because thereβs a group of kiddos here that are just unique thinkers. On International womenβs day, I witnessed tables of ladies gathered to enjoy croissants and coffee - I love that! Kids and grandparents get together and play board games on the weekends.β
Old Town deeply values business residents who choose to partner within our developments. North End is special because of the unique focus on fostering community. Old Town Companies has the pleasure of calling the space home to our company headquarters.
